Kylie Todd & Band - Jazz/Funk/Soul

Kylie Todd brings a funky flavour to well known Jazz standards. Having already trained in contemporary vocals through Excel School of Performing Arts Kylie was an experienced singer, in Soul, Funk and Pop. She completed her Music degree in Jazz Vocals at New Zealand School of Music (Massey Campus), where she then had the opportunity to develop her sound and expand on her musical knowledge. 

Musical influences include Jamiroquai, Incognito, Robert Glasper, Gretchen Parlato, Snarky Puppy, Kurt Elling, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Eva Cassidy and many more. These influences can by heard through the arrangements that Kylie performs with her jazz funk quartet/quintet.

Kylie Currently also sings in bands Fibonacci, Stolen Moments and appears with Big Ticket from time to time. She also performed at Alt Carols in 2018 with her arrangement of God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman.

Sam Swindells

Sam Swindells is a versatile guitarst/vocalist based in Auckland who completed his BMUS (Jazz Performance) at Massey Univeristy (NZSM). He specialises in a range of styles including Jazz, Rockabilly, Funk, Pop and Bossa Nova. He is also currently working with Big Ticket (Band Leader), Boom! Boom! Deluxe, La Luna and the Gadjos, Fibonacci, The Lindy Tops and his own Sam and Loris Duo.

Elijah Whyte

Elijah is a sought after drummer, performing, recording, writing and teaching music. He is a member of the very successful covers band The Beat Council, who performs every Friday night at Auckland’s busiest and biggest bar Sweatshop Brew Kitchen. Elijah is also an accomplished session musician who has performed and recorded with some of New Zealand’s best music artists/acts including Troy Kingi, Hollie Smith, Nathan Haines, Foley, Harper Finn, Alae and Thabani Gapara. 

Elijah holds a Bachelor of Music degree Majoring in Jazz Performance from the University of Auckland. His other formal music qualifications include the 2018 KBB Music Jazz Percussionist of the year Award, and the Mike Chunn Award for Song Writing in both 2014 and 2015 while studying at Takapuna Grammar School. 

Stallone D'Souza

 Stallone is a local Auckland pianist and piano teacher who completed his Bachelor of Music (jazz performance) at Auckland Uni. Stallone is part of various bands and projects across many genres of music. Heavily influenced by artists from different eras and genres, such as Kaytranada, Robert Glasper, Anderson Paak, Ahmad Jamal, Stevie Wonder and many more,  Stallone’s sound has been shaped into one that is unique yet versatile enough to contribute to different musical projects. Stallone's experience covers playing for different events from restaurant/pub gigs, corporate events to festivals. Stallone plays regularly for covers group Fibonacci, jam session house bands “Stanky” and “Swap & Stallone duo”, as well as original artists “Missy” and “Imagine This”. Stallone has also played with “Queen City Big Band”, “Hipstamatics, “Mister Speaker”, "Thabani Gapara Project" and various other Auckland based bands.

 Nick Taylor

Nick is a strong musician and talented bass player who started playing music at the age of five on guitar and piano. He has been heavily involved with music since then. He studied at the New Zealand School of Music, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree specialising in Jazz Performance on electric bass, upright bass and trombone. Since graduation, Nick has been associated with international bands such as the Andrea Lisa Band, Tahuna Breaks, dDub and the Rodger Fox Big Band. He has also been a member of the Auckland Jazz Orchestra, Queen City Big Band and the New Zealand School of Music Big Band. 
Over the years, Nick has performed with some of New Zealand’s finest jazz musicians, such as Rodger Fox, Ray Wolf, Erna Ferry, Alan Brown, Phil Broadhurst and Kevin Field to name a few. He has also performed with international Jazz artists Allen Vizzutti, John Fedchock, Steve Houghton, Thijs Van Leer (Focus) and Kym Perling to name a few.
